History
Cooking Whims started in 2009, and was actually originally called Baking Whims. After I graduated from college, me and my two best friends would get together once a week and bake something. I usually found the recipes for our baking club on food blogs, and after a while, they convinced me to start one of my own!
After a year of Baking Whims, I moved out of my parents’ house and was officially on my own for cooking. I took out a bunch of cookbooks from the library, started following more blogs, and learned how to fend for myself in the kitchen! I wanted to document my journey and the great recipes I discovered along the way, so changed the blog to Cooking Whims.
I’ve been cooking, baking, and blogging ever since, and have joined some amazing communities such as the Boston Food Bloggers, Boston Brunchers, and the Secret Recipe Club. Besides learning new skills and eating some amazing food along the way, I’ve met some of my best friends through this blog. What a rewarding hobby!

And what about me? 
I’m 25, recently married to a wonderful soon-to-be lawyer, live just outside of Boston, and loving life. My other big hobby is photography (need some professional pictures taken? Contact me!) I also love nature photography, especially macro — I can’t get enough of those little details!
I also enjoy singing, knitting, acting, paint-by-numbers, lists, organizing, black coffee, white wine, chunky sweaters, Wheel of Fortune, Autumn, Star Trek, spending time with my family, the state of Maine, the ocean, and poking around the Christmas Tree Shops.
